Smartnav
Smartnav offers value for money, providing the driver a comprehensive range of additional services to support your motoring needs.
Destination routes are calculated from a powerful computer, when a Personal Assistant enters the details. Traffic data is incorporated into the route, and is digitally downloaded to the incar Smartnav unit fitted into your vehicle, providing the necessary instructions that are clearly spoken.
Smartnav makes your journey quick, easy, and as safe as possible. At a touch of a button on your Smartnav unit, you are connected to a Personal Assistant, who enters your destination details into a central computer to calculate your route. In seconds the route is sent to the Smartnav unit in your car.
Smartnav combines the live and forecast traffic information to give the best route from A to B. Smartnav will automatically react to any changes in traffic conditions and where possible, offer you a alternative route.

At last—full post coding. Alpine and Pioneer units allow simple entry of full postcode for destinations. No more lost remotes: touch screen capable units and screens are available.

Using company name, or any part of an address including just the postcode, the Smartnav PA has comprehensive, and up to date information from a database, which can give the complete address. The database is automatically updated at regular intervals, and PA’s are ready to take your calls 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Find the following destinations with ease using Smartnav:
- UK residential and business address listings
- Petrol Stations/Shops/Hotels/Restaurants
- The nearest cash machine at the bank of your choice
Smartnav SOS
In the event of a break down, press your Smartnav button and the PA can automatically pinpoint your exact position and call for assistance. Details are sent directly to the appropriate breakdown or emergency services, reassuring you that help is on the way.
Smartnav Option: Safe Speed
The Smartnav Safe Speed option alerts you when you approach zones monitored by fixed safety cameras, variable safety cameras and multi-camera detectors, also known as Specs. Two levels of audible warning are provided, 3 beeps as you approach a monitored zone, and 5 beeps immediately before a monitored zone, therefore allowing you to correct your speed and concentrate on the road ahead. If you continue to drive above the speed limit through a monitored zone, a continuous beep is heard until your speed has fallen below the specified speed limit.
A data research team continuously updates safety camera zones and data within the Smartnav unit will automatically upgraded once a month, when you next use your Smartnav unit for navigation.
A monthly subscription is required for the Safe Speed Option, and includes all updates during the period of subscription.
Smartnav Option: RAC Trackstar Plus
Smartnav has developed the RAC Trackstar Plus option that can help locate your car should your vehicle get stolen. The police must be informed first and you will be issued with a crime reference number, then call the Smartnav PA on the dedicated RAC Trackstar Plus number. A signal will be sent to the Smartnav unit in your vehicle to activate the tracking function. The unit will inform the PA of the exact location of your vehicle, every 20 seconds. The PA will continuously update the police of the car’s location helping them to recover the car.
The service is in operation 24 hours a day and 365 days a year.
There is an upgrade fee and monthly subscription for the RAC Trackstar Plus service.
